'Me Time' Yogurt Inspiration

We just love those ‘sit down and breathe’ moments. You know the ones. It’s just you, and you have, for once, got a minute to yourself.

Those moments are so rare, they’re worth celebrating with a few quick and delicious homemade indulgences.

Whether it’s your mid-morning snack, after dinner treat or part of your lazy Sunday morning routine sitting in the sun with your coffee, these homemade yogurt topping ideas are sure to take you away from your everyday life, and into a peaceful place for your ‘me time’.

We love homemade goodness (yes, it’s kind of our thing), so we’re sharing our top six fresh and delicious homemade topping ideas for your yogurt treats. They are super delicious, and just a little bit indulgent.

1. 3-minute Maple Walnut crunch

This is one of the easiest toppings to make. Maybe its 8pm, the kids have gone to bed and you just want a quick treat. Everyone has walnuts in the cupboard, right? Pop them in a pan with a little bit of maple syrup and a touch of salt. Cook and stir until the syrup caramelises. Then chop them up and sprinkle them over your favourite EasiYo. That’s it - 3 minutes, and you’re back on the couch, enjoying the moment.

2. Homemade muesli with toasted coconut

You’ve never made homemade muesli? You have to start! Super easy, super delicious, and so much better when you’ve made it yourself. You’ll figure out your own favourite recipe, but here’s a quick and easy way to get started. Lay plenty of rolled oats, a nut selection, shredded coconut, and a sprinkle of cinnamon onto some baking paper. Bake until it starts to turn golden. Then cool, mix in some dried fruit and store in your favourite jar. Sprinkle it on top of your yogurt, and you’re ready for a crunch explosion. If you want something a little extra, try our protein coconut yogurt with coconut bits, the perfect partner for your newly homemade brekkie.

3. Preserved fruit

Rhubarb, apples, plums, peaches? Everyone has their favourite preserved fruit, and their favourite way to add them to a meal or snack. A little sweet and a little sour, they are the perfect match with a dollop or two of yogurt for your after-dinner treat. And the great thing is, it doesn’t matter what the season is, as your preserved fruit will last in the pantry across the year.

4. Coconut, almond, chocolate combo

Ok, this one will definitely be a crowd pleaser. All the goodness of nuts and honey, with a little added chocolate treat. Coconut will take you to the tropics, the nuts add some crunch, and the honey and chocolate, well they will just take you to indulgent heaven with a little added sweetness. Simply toast the coconut and almonds, drizzle with honey, add those chocolate bits for a little extra indulgence, and serve the lot on a bowl of your favourite EasiYo yogurt.

5. Honey drizzled fresh berries

If the season is right, fresh berries are always a favourite. In some seasons, you can even pick your own, making it a real ‘home grown’ experience. Out of season, the frozen ones are pretty good now too. Choose your berry, add some oven-roasted nuts (almonds or walnuts are perfect), chop them up and sprinkle over your favourite yogurt flavour. For a little sweetness, just drizzle with honey. Healthy and delicious.

6. Protein packed

Most nuts and seeds are high in protein, and combining them with our new EasiYo Protein yogurt, means this protein powerhouse definitely packs a punch. Keep a jar of roasted nuts and seeds in the pantry, then make it your go-to after gym breakfast, or as a snack when your tummy is grumbling.
